The ASEAN forum’s joint communiqué

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Sunday released its joint communique, taking a tougher stance than before on territorial disputes in the South China Sea.

Risking China's ire, ASEAN notes some countries' concerns about “the land reclamations and activities in the area, which have eroded trust and confidence, increased tensions and may undermine peace, security and stability in the region.”
