53 drug dependents complete treatment at mega-rehab center

Some 53 former drug addicts completed their eight-month long rehabilitation treatment at the country's biggest rehabilitation center -  the Mega Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (Mega DATRC) in Nueva Ecija's Fort Magsaysay.

Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial told GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend" that the 53 former addicts were the first batch to ever complete the country's drug rehabilitation program.

More than 400 people are currently seeking treatment at the center, which was designed to accommodate 5,000. — Margaret Claire Layug/DVM, GMA News
