Bautista shows his response to wife’s demand letter

After getting a demand letter from his wife seeking her financial and property shares, Commission on Elections chair Andres Bautista also prepared a letter citing his own terms for their agreement.

In a letter he had offered to his wife Patricia, Bautista said he was willing to pay her P70 million in the form of a manager's check. GMA News' Tina Panganiban-Perez obtained a copy of the letter.

He would also agree to issue a letter of credit or place in escrow P20 million to be paid in three installments.

This is considerably much lower than the P500 million being demanded by his wife from him.

As for their two condominium units in Taguig City that Patricia wants to get from him, the poll chief said he would only agree to sell the property and place the proceeds in a trust for the benefit of their four children.

Bautista also gave his wife special power of attorney to complete their divorce and annulment in Hong Kong and the Philippines, respectively. — MDM, GMA News
