Flooded areas in Metro Manila


The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Tuesday morning said it has received reports of flooding in several areas in Metro Manila due to heavy rains brought on by Tropical Depression Maring.

Flooded areas in the capital region as of 8 a.m. were:

Malabon City

  • Maria Clara - six inches deep
  • Tonsuya - six inches deep
  • C. Arellano/Camus - six inches deep
  • Rizal Avenue - four inches deep

Parañaque City

  • Banana Compound - one meter deep

Marikina City

  • Russet, Olive, Chestnut-Creek - one foot deep
  • Charmaine, Sapphire, Lila, Rainbow - one foot deep
  • Katipunan, Pio del Pilar, Tangerin - one foot deep

Pasig City

  • H.B. Soliven Avenue - five to six inches deep
  • Pasig Greenpark - five to six inches deep
  • San Agustin Avenue - two to three inches deep
  • Tanagco Street - three to four inches deep

Quezon City

  • Barangay Doña Imelda (Kapiligan Street) - one foot deep
  • Barangay Culiat (Sunville Subdivision, Disire Compound) - three feet deep
  • Barangay Damayang Lagi (Lapidonila Street) - knee deep
  • Barangay Roxas (Gumamela Street) - five feet deep
  • Barangay Tatalon (Araneta, Agno and Kaliraya streets) - knee deep
  • BArangay Talayan (Aranveta Avenue) - two feet deep
  • Barangay Sto. Domingo (Maria Clara Street, Araneta Avenue) - two to three feet deep
  • Barangay Sta. Cruz (General Lim Segundo Street) - one foot deep
  • Ortigas Flyover Southbound - gutter deep
  • EDSA Corinthian Northbound - gutter deep
  • EDSA Munoz Landers Northbound - gutter deep
  • EDSA Balintawak to NLEX Exit - above gutter
  • EDSA Oliveros - above gutter
  • Rizal R. Papa - waist deep, not passable to any vehicle
  • E. Q. Avenue Service Road Northbound - knee deep, not passable to light vehicles

The NDRRMC said it had also received reports of flooding in the provinces of Camarines Norte, Quezon, Laguna, Rizal and Batangas.

Earlier reports said some areas in Quezon are submerged in 12 feet deep floods.

The flooding in these areas were caused by heavy rains brought on by Maring, which made landfall in Quezon at around 9 a.m.

PAGASA had warned that weather conditions in Metro Manila and nearby provinces will worsen as the cyclone crosses Luzon.
