Mocha criticized for taking selfie inside mosque with her boots on

An official of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) on Tuesday criticized Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson for allegedly taking a selfie inside a mosque with her boots on.

Zia Alonto Adiong, who represents Lanao del Sur's first district in the ARMM Regional Assembly, said Uson was with President Rodrigo Duterte when the President visited the Grand Islamic Mosque in war-torn Marawi City on Monday.

"That's where Usec. (sic) Uson was taking selfie with her boots on," he said.

Aside from wearing boots, Uson was also reportedly not wearing a hijab.

Showing a picture of his son and nephew at the mosque during last year's Eid Fitr congressional prayer, Adiong said: "Notice how we teach our kids to leave their slippers and not to bring them inside the holy ground."

"We should avoid actions that may offend our Muslim brothers and sisters," added Adiong, who also acts as the spokesman of the provincial peace and order council.

Adiong advised Uson, a controversial blogger and staunch Duterte supporter, to "hire an etiquette manager, if there's any."
