Faeldon to Lacson: Enough of your self-confessed obsession against me

Former Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon on Thursday shrugged off Senator Panfilo Lacson's graft and economic sabotage charges filed against him, saying the complaint is "highly-expected" to be dismissed.

"If Senator Lacson truly believes in his own propaganda, will he commit to the Filipino people to resign as a senator of the Republic, in the highly-expected event that his B.S. complaint is dismissed either by the Ombudsman or the Sandiganbayan? We thought so too," Faeldon said in a statement through his legal counsel.

Faeldon, who has been "indefinitely" detained at the Senate until he cooperates with the blue ribbon committee probe in to the P6.4-billion shabu shipment that slipped past the Bureau of Customs, once again lambasted Lacson, saying the senator is just putting off to waste the taxes of the public.

"Enough of your self-confessed obsession against me. Sinasayang mo ang buwis ng sambayanan for your personal and ill-motives," Faeldon said.

He also assured that he will "squarely address" the allegations of Lacson.

"If your garbage complaint is not dismissed outright by the Ombudsman for utter lack of merit, I will squarely address your fake allegations with facts and evidence. Truth is justice!," he said.

Lacson earlier filed graft and economic charges against Faeldon with the Office of the Ombudsman over the alleged release of smuggled rice.

Lacson said he has enough evidence, including documents and sworn affidavits, that will be sufficient to back the charges that he filed against Faeldon. — RSJ, GMA News
