PNP respects survey of Pinoys opinion on slain drug suspects

The Philippine National Police respects the findings of a pollster's survey showing that majority of Filipinos believe many of those killed in anti-illegal drugs operations did not resist the police.

In an interview on Radyo dzBB on Saturday, PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Dionardo Carlos said  that the police organization respects the results of the Social Weather Stations' survey last June, but the police looks at it as a challenge.

According to the SWS survey, 63 percent of Filipinos believe that many of drug suspects killed in police operations had surrendered but were still killed anyway.

But he also emphasized the sacrifices of police personnel in fighting criminality.

Also, he said that a total of "204 police operatives were critically wounded in such operations." —LBG, GMA News
