Scalawag cops may be used by Duterte critics against PNP, says Bato

Rogue policemen may be used by critics of the administration against the Philippine National Police (PNP), Director General Ronald Dela Rosa has said.

In a Balitanghali report on Sunday, Dela Rosa told policemen in a speech in La Union that scalawags within their ranks shake the very core of the PNP.

He urged the policemen to also focus on cleaning up their ranks of scalawags.

"These people are pulling us down. Kokonti lang sila pero kapag hindi natin ito binigyan ng pansin, sisirain at sisirain tayo," he said in a speech during the 116th Police Service Anniversary celebration of Police Regional Office 1.

"Ika-capitalize 'yan ng mga kalaban ng administrasyon para sirain tayo," he added.

Dela Rosa said the PNP plays an important role in the Duterte administration's campaign against illegal drugs.
