Veteran journalist Tony Calvento dies

Journalist Tony Calvento has died on Monday, James Agustin reported for Super Radyo's dzBB.

Calvento's son, Sonny, posted the announcement on his Facebook account, "Papa, best known as Tony Calvento to friends and loved ones has joined Our Creator today, 9 October 2017."

"His remains will lie in state at Chapel 3, The Heritage Park, Taguig. Funeral service will be held on 10 October to 13 October at 3 pm onwards," Sonny said.

The cremation will be on Saturday, 14 October.

"All your prayers, support and comfort are deeply appreciated," Sonny added.

Tony Calvento was known for his column published by the Philippine Star, "Calvento Files," which was later adopted as a crime and investigative show that he also hosted.

"Calvento Files" also had a movie version that was shown in theaters in May 1997. — BAP, GMA News
