South Korea's Moon Jae-in arrives in PHL for ASEAN Summit

South Korean President Moon Jae-in arrived in the Philippines on Sunday afternoon to join other world leaders on the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Meetings.

Moon's plane arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at past 3 p.m.

Moon stepped into the presidency after winning the elections when his controversial predecessor Park Geun-hye was impeached, following awe-inspiring mass demonstrations of the South Korean people.

Before he was elected, Moon had condemned President Rodrigo Duterte’s “inaction” against the supposed abduction and murder of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo by Philippine policemen.
