Sandra Cam appointed to PCSO; Abella swears in as DFA usec

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed whistleblower and staunch supporter Sandra Cam to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

She told reporters in Malacañang that she had been appointed as a member of the PCSO board of directors.

She is scheduled to take her oath Wednesday along with two other PCSO board appointees, other government appointees, and officers of private organizations before Duterte.

Cam told reporters that her appointment should not be considered a political accommodation.

“The President had given me the trust. I’ve been working so hard to help the less fortunate and the OFWs. This is not a political position. At makikita po ninyo, give me at least three months, I will prove to those detractors that they are wrong,” she said.

Former presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella will also take his oath today as an Undersecretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs. — MDM, GMA News
