DOTr’s Tugade orders intensified security measures for Christmas season

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade ordered the transport sector to intensify safety and security measures in anticipation of more passengers in transport terminals during the Christmas season.

Transportation officials and personnel of the railways, road, maritime, and aviation sectors were reminded to assure that the thousands of passengers who are going to their provinces for the holidays not only experience safety and security but also comfort when they travel.
 
“May I once again reiterate the great importance of maintaining and assuring the safety, security, and comfort of the riding passengers and the public,” Tugade said in a statement on Thursday.

“Accordingly, please continue implementing and improving our security and safety measures to protect people, facility, structures, equipment, and the like,” he said.

The government and the commuting public were also urged to be “proactive, alert and vigilant” in order to improve security measures in the transport sectors. — Marlly Rome Bondoc/VDS, GMA News
