Palace welcomes 'very good' Q4 satisfaction rating for Duterte

Malacañang on Saturday welcomed the latest Social Weather Stations survey showing that President Rodrigo Duterte's net satisfaction rating improved to "very good" in the fourth quarter.

"We thank the Filipino people for the 10-point rise in the net satisfaction of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s performance which stands at +58 in December from the previous +48 in September," said Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque in a statement.

According to SWS survey, 71 percent were satisfied with Duterte's performance, with 15 percent undecided, and 13 percent dissatisfied.

This gave the president a net satisfaction rating (percent satisfied minus percent dissatisfied) of +58 or a "very good" rating.

"We are entering 2018 with high public confidence from all across geographical areas, in both urban and rural areas, in all socioeconomic classes, among both men and women, and all educational levels," Roque said.

"We therefore assure everyone that this public sentiment, classified by the SWS as very good, would be a source of inspiration for the President and his team to continuously work hard to bring a comfortable life for all Filipinos under a trustworthy government," he added.

The fourth quarter net satisfaction poll on the president was undertaken from December 8 to 16, 2017, using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 respondents nationwide. The poll had a sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national percentages, and ±6 percent for regional percentages. —John Ted Cordero/LBG, GMA News
