PNP chief rallies men to triple efforts amid salary hike

Philippine National Police chief Director Ronald dela Rosa rallied his men Monday to join him in not just doubling but tripling the efforts in doing their job especially now that their salaries have been increased.

“Hindi lang doblehin kundi triplehin pa ang effort lalong lalo na malaki na ang sweldo natin. Ako ang pinaka may malaking sweldo dito,” Dela Rosa said during the PNP’s flag ceremony at Camp Crame.

The PNP chief said he should have been in Davao now as he was supposed to retire as he reached the mandatory retirement age of 56 on Sunday.

“Supposed to be wala na ako dito ngayon no ngayong flag raising na ito. Dapat umuwi na ako ng Davao. Hindi na dapat ako nakauniporme ngayon dahil it was my 56th birthday yesterday,” he said.

President Rodrigo Duterte has extended Dela Rosa’s term until April.

“Nadagdagan pa 'yung ating serbisyo, pinalawig pa, pinahaba pa so here we are, we have to do our job,” he said. —KG, GMA News
