De Lima on her health condition: Nothing to worry about

Senator Leila de Lima assured the public that there is nothing to worry about regarding her health condition following her medical examination at the Philippine Heart Center on Monday afternoon.

In a statement, De Lima vowed to inform the public about the results of her medical check-up.

"There is nothing to worry about. This is just part of a routine medical check-up to determine if I should go through an operation to avoid any complications," she said.

De Lima left her detention cell at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center earlier in the day to undergo check-up for her liver condition.

In her petition dated February 22, the neophyte senator cited a lump in her liver and requested to be allowed to see a doctor.

De Lima has been detained for drug-related charges.

In the same statement, De Lima said she would continue to do her obligations as a lawmaker and she would fight for the accusations against her.

—Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
