Duterte arrives from latest China trip

President Rodrigo Duterte has arrived at the Davao International Airport early Friday morning.

Duterte attended the Boao forum for Asia Annual Conference in Hainan Province, People's Republic of China and his working visit to the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.

"The nine business agreements signed during my visit yielded an estimated value of 9 to 8 billion dollars in investments. These are projected to generate more than 10,000 jobs for our countrymen and women," he said.

"The Chinese Government also provided 500 million renminbi (roughly P4.1 billion) in assistance. Grant. So, maybe we’ll discuss that later, on what I will do with the money," he added.

He also mentioned that about 2,000 Filipino teachers will be hired in China to teach English with contracts valid for two years and could be renewable.

Duterte also reported that he discussed with China other areas where there could be mutual collaboration. He, however, did not elaborate on this matter.

Duterte also reported to "kababayans" the developments in the country and that he vowed to continue to improve the country's situation.

The President also pledged to use diplomacy to advance economic and security interests. —BAP/KG, GMA News
