PNP chief Albayalde wants SAF commando training for new cops

Newly-installed Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on Thursday said that all recruits and new officers would have to undergo the training meant for Special Action Force commandos.

“We will standardize equipage, training to our personnel, and build better facilities, including bigger detention cells in our police stations,” Albayalde said during his speech in the PNP change of command held in Camp Crame.

“All our recruits and new officers shall be required to undergo standard SAF training before they get deployed in the different regions,” he added.

Albayalde earlier proposed the establishment of a school which could standardize the training for the police force, saying that as a former SAF commando he has witnessed the discipline of cops assigned in the elite unit. —NB, GMA News
