New disbarment complaint filed vs. Larry Gadon

A new disbarment complaint has been filed against lawyer Lorenzo "Larry" Gadon, the man behind the impeachment complaint against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

Members of the group Millenials PH, together with blogger Jover Laurio of Pinoy Ako blog, filed the complaint with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) on Tuesday, according to a report on GMA News TV's QRT.

The group accused Gadon of "Gross Ignorance with the Law" and "Grossly Immoral Conduct."

The group said Gadon should be disbarred as he does not set a good example of being a lawyer.

Last Friday, a group of law students and concerned citizens also filed a disbarment complaint against Gadon over his expletive-ridden outburst in Baguio City against supporters of Sereno last April 10.

Gadon had earlier said he does not mind getting disbarred as long as Sereno will be removed from office.

Gadon for senator

Gadon, meanwhile, on Tuesday said the results of the Pulse Asia survey is a good indication to have a “good fight” in the May 2019 senatorial elections.

While he had earlier said that there are people pushing him to run again as a senator, Gadon said that he has not decided yet on whether he will pursue a senatorial seat.

“If you can see kasi yung Pulse Asia survey diba even I have not declared any intention but yet my ranking is in the middle and I am even placed ahead of more popular and mga government officials,” he told GMA News Online in a phone interview.

Even if he has a statistical ranking of 38th to 54th place in the Pulse Asia survey, Gadon said that he was still ahead of some incumbent officials.

“I’m even ahead of mga incumbent congressmen so yung mga kaibigan ko sinasabi eh kung yung mga senatorial preference pa lang nandiyan ka na sa middle list eh what more kung talagang declaration ng candidacy na and what they’re saying is that I’m very popular with the Duterte supporters and Marcos supporters,” he said.

“If that initial survey is being considered eh, magandang indication ‘yon to have a good fight. Pero I will still consult some of my interns kung anong gagawin pero wala pa talaga,” he added.

In a Women in Law Enfocement forum held in Camp Aguinaldo, Gadon said that if he ever decide to run as a senator, it would be due to friends who are pushing for him. —with Marlly Rome Bondoc/KBK, GMA News
