No apology in Mocha reply to Kris: ‘This is not about you’

Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson's first social media post in reaction to Kris Aquino's Facebook and Instagram rants against her contained no apology.

In a 20-second video on Facebook, Uson said her post on Senator Benigno Aquino Jr.'s getting kissed on a plane in 1983 "was not about Kris Aquino."

"Tungkol ito sa paglagay ng malisya sa isang halik. Itinumbas lang sa gawain ng ibang lider tulad ng tatay niya," Uson said.

"Ms Aquino, this is not about you," she added.

Uson later said in a status post that she would not say sorry.

"With all due respect to everyone involved, I decline to apologize for the truth," Uson said.

Uson in an earlier post on Facebook compared President Rodrigo Duterte kissing a Filipino worker in South Korea to the Marcos era opposition leader getting kissed by two women on the last flight he took before getting killed in Manila in August 1983.

Duterte had drawn widespread criticism for the kiss that happened onstage after he addressed Filipinos in Seoul.

Kris took offense at Uson's post which she took as an insult to the legacy of her father and her mother, the former President Corazon Aquino.

Special Assistant to the President Secretary Bong Go earlier in the day said that Uson had agreed to apologize to Kris over her social media post on the late senator getting kissed.

Go said Duterte told him to tell Kris that they were sorry for "the incident." —NB, GMA News
