Duterte says he asked God to let into heaven EJK victims

President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday said that he had asked God to take victims of extrajudicial killings to heaven.

Duterte made the remark in a speech Malaybalay City, Bukidnon where he again lashed out at human rights advocates criticizing his administration's war on drugs—a campaign that has been blamed for thousands of killings.

"You enjoy human rights there in heaven kasi God promised you that lahat ng extra-judicial killing victims will go to heaven. 'Yan ang hiningi ko sa Diyos," Duterte said of drug suspects.

"Sabi naman ng Diyos, ‘Pwede, pwede.’ O gagawin ko ba yan kung walang guarantee," he added, drawing laughter from the audience.

Duterte again questioned Christian doctrine, saying he didn't believe in hell.

"If you have a consolation in going to heaven, sabi ko, God, pagbigyan mo nalang 'yan," Duterte said.

"Ako, wala akong hingiin sa akin. Reserve the hottest place in hell for me and may I burn 'til eternity kung na ay hell. But I do not believe in hell," he added.

Standing by a previous remark that drew flak from leaders of the Catholic Church, Duterte went on to say, "Why would God make an oven in his creation?"

"Kaya sabi ko, 'I have a God but it is not your stupid God'," Duterte said. —NB, GMA News
