Gadon sees victory in 2019 polls: Ang mga tao ngayon ayaw na sa bobo

Lawyer Larry Gadon, who is at the tail-end of the recent Pulse Asia survey on possible senatorial aspirants, has predicted victory in the 2019 Senate race.

"I am very confident of winning kasi 'yung mga tao ngayon ayaw na sa mga bobo," Gadon said. "If you will look at social media, 'di mo na maloloko ang mga tao sa paarti-artista ng mga bobo."

Gadon, who filed the impeachment complaint against ousted Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, ranked 43rd to 61st in Pulse Asia's September poll. In April, video of him calling Sereno supporters "bobo" (stupid) in Baguio City became viral

"Nung 2016, wala rin ako sa survey, pero number 27 ako, 91 percent of votes counted. Ngayon, sa SWS, number 24 ako," Gadon said Friday.

Gadon, a supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, said he considers himself popular since he was spoofed by comedian Michael V and and is mobbed by people everywhere he goes.

"Napakaganda ng pagka-spoof sa akin, nakakatuwa. It is such an honor. Saka kadalasan kahit saan ako magpunta, pinagkakaguluhan ako ng mga tao: mga millenials, professionals, senior citizens,"  he said.

So confident was Gadon that he vowed not to seek the endorsement of anybody, not even Duterte.

"I am not begging for endorsement. I want to win on my own name. I will win on my own name," he said.

Gadon said he will push for government resources to be earmarked to generation and distribution of solar energy.

"Government mismo dapat magpatayo ng facilities. May Malampaya fund naman, it is worth billions, so the government should use this for this purpose," Gadon said.

Malampaya fund is government money sourced from the payments of oil companies Caltex and Shell for extracting natural gas in Malampaya oil field in Palawan province. —KBK, GMA News
