Singer Freddie Aguilar files his COC for 2019 polls

Singer Freddie Aguilar was among poll hopefuls who were first to file early on Thursday their certificates of candidacy for senator for the 2019 national and local elections before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Manila.

In a short press conference, Aguilar, 65, said he was convinced by ordinary citizens to run for senator.

Aguilar was with his secretary Lorie San Pedro when he had filed his candidacy.

Asked what can he contribute to the Senate, Aguilar mentioned his song Katarungan as he aims to have a jury system.

—LBG, GMA News
