Poe leads SWS senatorial preferences commissioned survey

Senator Grace Poe ranked first on the list of senatorial preferences of respondents in a commissioned survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations in September.

Poe garnered 52 percent, and was followed by three other women lawmakers: Senator Cynthia Villar, 46 percent; Taguig Representative Pia Cayetano, 37 percent; and Senator Nancy Binay, 31 percent.

They were followed by actor and former Senator Lito Lapid and
Senator Koko Pimentel, both getting the nods of 30 percent of respondents, landing them in 5th-6th places.

In 7th place is former Senator Jinggoy Estrada at 29 percent, Senator Sonny Angara in 8th place at 26 percent, and Sara Duterte-Carpio, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, in 9th place at 24 percent.

Rounding out the 10th to 12 places are Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, former Senator and vice presidential candidate Mar Roxas, and Senator Bam Aquino, who all got 22 percent.

Six percent of respondents did not pick any name on the list.

The survey commissioned by Alde Joselito Pagulayan was conducted on September 15-23, 2018 on 1,500 adults nationwide using face-to-face interviews.

The senatorial preferences question was incorporated in SWS' Third Quarter 2018 Social Weather Report Survey, SWS said.

The error margins for the survey are ±3 percent for national percentages, ±4 percent for Balance Luzon, and ±6 percent for Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao. —KG, GMA News
