Imelda Marcos lawyer eyes filing appeal of graft conviction at Sandiganbayan

A lawyer for Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos is considering filing a motion for reconsideration of the Sandiganbayan's decision finding her guilty of graft.

In a statement, the widow of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos said she already received a copy of the decision but added that her attorney on record was confined in a hospital.

"We have just received a copy of the Decision of the Sandiganbayan's 5th Division which was promulgated on November 9, 2018," Marcos said in a statement.

"Unfortunately, my Attorney of Record, Atty. Robert Sison, has been indisposed and is presently confined at the Asian Hospital," she added.

"Justice Lolong Lazaro, who has previously appeared as counsel in this case, will act as my counsel in the interim," Marcos said.

"He is presently studying the decision and has advised us that he intends to file a Motion for Reconsideration," he added. —NB, GMA News
