Duterte to ninja cops: I can be more evil than you

President Rodrigo Duterte again served notice to policemen allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.

Speaking before a business conference in Manila on Thursday, Duterte said criminals and cops who sell confiscated illegal drugs do not have the “monopoly of evil in this country.”

“It's a very stupid paradigm because I can be evil like you, and more than, if I want to be,” he said.

“I still have two years, I can create hell for everybody. Very easy, you just [have to] be a bad boy. Mag walang hiya ka lang. Yariin mo lahat.”

Duterte’s latest tirade against so-called “ninja cops” came two days after he expressed his disappointment over the controversy during a joint command conference in Malacañang.

The issue even forced Police General Oscar Albayalde to step down as Philippine National chief ahead of his retirement on November 8 after he was accused of receiving a portion from the November 2013 drug bust in Pampanga that resulted in a dismissal order against 13 cops over alleged recycling of illegal drugs.

Albayalde was the chief of the Pampanga police at the time.

But the former top cop said that despite the Senate hearings conducted, no hard evidence was ever presented showing that he was involved in the questioned drug raid.

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is expected to release its committee report on Friday, October 18.  —BAP, GMA News
