Pinay maid in UAE may face death sentence for 'sexually abusing' employer's children

A Filipina housemaid in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is in danger of facing the death sentence after being accused of sexually abusing her sponsor's children. The Filipina was arrested after her sponsor claimed that she abused his children, including his one-year-old daughter, according to a report of the news site Gulf News. However, the Filipina, 36, denied the allegations against her. She was accused of having sex with the sponsor’s eight-year-old son, and forcing the boy to have sex with his 12-year-old sister. The sponsor accused the Filipina of having sex with a Pakistani gardener who visited the house weekly. The Dubai police said the Filipina, 36, was arrested at her Emirati sponsor’s house in Al Barsha. Wudeema’s Law decrees the housemaid may face the death sentence if she is convicted of sexually abusing the children. The report said the Filipina is now detained in Al Aweer Central Jail and the case has been transferred to the public prosecution for further investigation. Gulf News report described the Filipina as a "divorced" mother of a three-year-old boy who went to the UAE in May 2011. - VVP, GMA News
