4 killed as bomb hits van in Maguindanao

KIDAPAWAN CITY — Four people, including a boy, were killed when suspected members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) set off an improvised explosive device in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao on Tuesday evening.

The victims died after their Starex van was hit by the bomb's explosion in Barangay Salbu at around 10:30 p.m.

The military identified the fatalities as Alex Alap Ganoy, Ken-ken Makabangen and Kaloy Makabangen and his son.

Two more passengers of the van identified as Benzar and Agabai Makabangen were hurt.

Policemen and military personnel are pursuing the bandits. —Williamor Magbanua/ALG, GMA News
