German national nabbed for snubbing court hearings


SURIGAO CITY- Police have arrested a German national in Dapa, Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte for failure to attend court hearings on a libel suit filed against him, officials said Friday. Dapa Municipal Police office identified the German national as Viktor Rudnizki, 45, married who is based in General Luna town, the surfing capital of the Philippines. Rudnizki is facing four libel cases, which are being tried by the Regional Trial Court Branch 31 in Dapa. The arrest order was issued by RTC Judge Evangeline Yuipco-Bayana after Rudnizki failed to appear the hearings. Rudnizki was arrested by a police team led by Inspector Adrian Antonio, chief of the General Luna Municipal Police office. The complainants in the lawsuits are also foreign nationals identified as Andreas M. Kolaiczik and his wife Elizabeth. The accused was turned over to Dapa Sub-Provincial Jail but was later released after he secured a court order for his temporary liberty. - GMANews.TV
