Cop assigned to drug unit in Rizal nabbed for allegedly selling drugs

A policeman assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit was arrested early Tuesday in Rizal for allegedly selling drugs, a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday said.

P01 Fernan Manimbo was nabbed after cops received a tip that he was about to drop off shabu in Brgy. Bagumbayan in Teresa, GMA News' Jay Sabale reported.

Manimbo was on the list of high-value targets in Rizal.

According to P/Sr. Supt. Albert Ocon, police director of the Rizal Police Office, the suspect was caught in the act of delivering 20 sachets containing 100 grams of shabu worth P200,000.

Manimbo was caught by surprise at the arrest since just the other day, he was among those who conducted anti-drug operations.

Two nabbed in QC

Meanwhile, two men were arrested in Quezon City past 10 p.m. Tuesday after a buy-bust operation.

Quezon City Police District Station 7 operatives conducted the buy-bust operation at West Point corner Aurora Blvd. in Brgy. E. Rodriguez.

An undercover policeman was able to buy a sachet of shabu from suspect Narciso Zambales alias Boy before the latter was nabbed.

Wilfredo Obar alias Toto who was also at the site for a transaction was likewise arrested.

Zambales previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang and was on the police watchlist for selling drugs.

However, Zambales denied he was selling drugs, and said he is only a pusher.

Obar, on the other hand, said he was just asked to buy the drugs. He said he earns only P50 per run.

Both suspects are facing raps for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —KG, GMA News
