Woman dies after husband allegedly hacked her in Calauan, Laguna

A woman was hacked to death allegedly by her own husband in Calauan, Laguna, according to a report on Unang Balita on Monday.

The victim, Ailene Tapay, 26, was allegedly hacked repeatedly.

Tapay's mother was overcome with grief and said she could not believe what happened to her daughter.

Initial investigation by the police revealed that the suspect, Erwin Tapay, husband of the victim, arrived at their home on Friday noontime.

The suspect allegedly hacked the victim for a yet undetermined reason.

He immediately escaped but was arrested while still holding a knife allegedly used for the crime.

The suspect was also brought to the hospital after he was seen with a wound on his neck.

Authorities are checking if the suspect was high on drugs at the time of the crime.

The suspect is facing parricide charges, the report said. —KG, GMA News
