Robbers gun down Scot just hours before Cebu wedding – report

Armed robbers shot and seriously injured Scot Tarek Naggar, 44, in Cebu City, just hours before he was supposed to be married to his Filipina fiance, the BBC news service reported on Sunday.

Naggar, who is from the Scottish town of Milngavie, was standing outside a convenience store on Thursday when three suspects drove up on a motorcycle.

The suspects demanded that Naggar hand over his wallet, and when he refused, a suspect pulled out a gun and shot the Scot in the chest.

Naggar was taken to hospital where surgeons managed to save his life.

However, Naggar lacks health insurance and loved ones are raising money for his bills through a crowdfunding effort. — DVM/KVD, GMA News
