Dogs, cats rescued in Marawi


Some volunteers have taken the initiative to rescue pet dogs and cats that have been left behind by their owners due to the siege in Marawi.

The kindhearted samaritans rescued six dogs and seven cats, through the help of some individuals and organizations.

Most of the cats and dogs were sick and malnourished when they were recovered, a report on Balitanghali on Friday said.

The abandoned pets were mostly rescued from Amai Pakpak headquarters.

The pets are in need of food, medicine and shelter.

Fighting in Marawi City began on May 23 between government soldiers and the Maute-ISIS group and is still ongoing. —Akari Nakano/KG, GMA News
