5 fishermen seized off Sulu —police

Five crew members of a fishing boat were abducted on Saturday by armed men off Pangutaran town in Sulu province, police said.

The Sulu Provincial Police identified the victims as Vergel Arquino, 25, from Davao City;  Joshua Ybañez, 23; Emo Fausto 63;  Jonald Minalang, 24; and Sepriano Sardido, 53, all the four are from Pagadian City.

An initial police investigation showed that the kidnapping happened off Sitio Manubal of Barangay Simbahan in the town of Pangutaran at about 8:15 p.m.
