Beauty contestant catches fire during pageant's talent portion

A beauty contestant suffered burns after she caught fire while doing her performance during the talent portion of a pageant in Cavite province.

According to a "24 Oras" report on Wednesday, the woman was showcasing a fire dance when the fire suddenly touched her costume.

The candidate and her back-up dancers panicked after the fire grew. She sustained burn wounds on her cheeks and other parts of her body after the incident.

The pageant's sponsor already sent a representative to the candidate to assist in her medical expenses. —Anna Felicia Bajo/JST, GMA News
