Abu Sayyaf sniper surrenders to military in Basilan

An Abu Sayyaf sniper has surrendered to the military in Al-Barka, Basilan.

The military identified the bandit as Ligod Tanjal alias Coy-coy under Abu Sayyaf leader Nurhassan Jamiri.

It said Tanjal also turned over his M16A1 rifle with scope to the Bravo Company of the Army's 74th Infantry Battalion in Barangay Macalang on Saturday.

The Army said Tanjal is included in the Armed Forces of the Philippines' watchlist. —report from Peewee Bacuño/ALG, GMA News
