Victims of Bulacan plane crash to get financial assistance

The operator of the plane that crashed into a house in Plaridel, Bulacan on Sunday pledged to extend financial assistance to the relatives of those who perished from the tragedy.

A report by Mav Gonzales on Balitanghali said a lawyer of Lite Air Express went to the crash site as police continue investigations into the incident.

While she did not grant interviews with the media, the lawyer said the company will extend financial assistance to the victims.

The report, however, made no mention of the amount that the relatives of the victims will receive from the company.

The lawyer said Lite Air Express will issue an official statement on Monday or Tuesday.

Ten people were killed in the incident, five of them were occupants of the house in Purok Tres, Barangay Lumang Bayan where the plane crashed.

The other five were passengers of the plane.

Relatives of the victims mourn for the lost of their loved ones in a funeral in a church in Plaridel, Bulacan.

"Masakit kasi lalo na hindi mo alam na yun talaga ang mangyayari dahil magkakausap pa kami nung umaga. Tapos sa isang iglap lang, ganun na pala. Wala na kaming nakita," said Linda Ariño, a relative of the victims.

The victims are expected to be laid to rest on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board have yet to release findings of their investigation into the incident. —Erwin Colcol/ALG, GMA News
