7 arrested in Cainta after drug buy-bust op

Authorities arrested on Thursday night seven suspects after they were caught in possession of illegal drugs and a firearm during a buy-bust operation in Cainta, Rizal.

Nabbed were suspects Rafael Cabauatan alias Rap-Rap, Joey Borja, Pauline Martinez, Rowel Tecaro, Randy General, Alfredo Landicho, and Analy Salim.

The suspects were arrested by Cainta Police on Alley-8 Enai East Floodway in Barangay San Andres at about 9:15 p.m.

Items recovered from the suspects include sachets of suspected shabu, a firearm, P500-bill, and live ammunition. Cainta Municipal Police Station

Recovered from the suspects were 17 sachets of suspected shabu, P500 bill used as buy-bust money, a caliber .38 revolver and six pieces of live ammunition.

Charges are being prepared against the suspects for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and the Omnibus Election Code. —With report from Peewee Bacuño/KG, GMA News
