Barangay official shot dead by alleged NPAs in Agusan del Norte

A newly elected barangay official was killed allegedly by the New People’s Army (NPA) on Wednesday morning in Barangay Mahaba, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.

Captain Al Anthony B. Pueblas, 402nd Brigade spokesperson, identified the victim as 40-year-old Edgar Rosal Panisan, the first councilor of Barangay Mahaba in Cabadbaran and an active CAFGU member.

Pueblas said Panisan was shot to death by members of the Guerilla Front - 21C of North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC).

"While serving his constituents during their brgy fiesta celebration, the victim was shot by the NPA hitting his left chest which caused his instantaneous death," Pueblas added. 

He also said that a witness positively identified the perpetrator as a NPA member of GF-21C, NEMRC. — BAP, GMA News
