2 girls die due suspected food poisoning in Camarines Sur

Two girls died one after the other after eating street food in Camarines Sur, Emil Sumangil reported on Saksi.

Edna Alba said her daughters, 10-year-old Lyka Alba and her sister 13-year-old Mary Joy, died after eating isaw and betamax.

She added that Lyka felt bad after eating the street food.

"Sabi niya 'Mama parang nahihilo ako,'" Edna related, adding that the girl was nauseous and was vomiting the entire evening.

"Lupaypay na po siya. Sabi ko 'pa, 'Ano nangyari sa anak natin?" she said.

They brought Lyka to the hospital but the child did no reach the facility and died along the way.

After four days, Mary Joy got sick and was brought to the hospital.

"Nakapasok pa 'to ng ICU, tatlong araw ata siya sa ICU," Edna said.

Another sibling also fell sick but he is currently recuperating.

The Alba family is waiting for the results of an autopsy conducted on the two girls.

Officials are also currently looking for the vendor of the isaw and betamax that was consumed by the siblings. — BAP, GMA News
