2 Abus killed, 2 wounded in Sulu clash


Two Abu Sayyaf group members were killed and two others were wounded in an encounter between the military and the bandit group.

 A report from the Western Mindanao Command said soldiers from the 61st, 62nd, and 64th Marine Companies and around 100 Abu Sayyaf members under Radullan Sahiron, Idang Susukan and Almujer Yadah engaged in a firefight at Barangay Lihbog Kabaw, Panglima Estino, Sulu at 5:08 a.m. Tuesday.

The troops were conducting focused military operations when they encountered the group.

No casualty was listed on the government side while two Abu Sayyaf members were killed, based on recovered bodies.  Also recovered in the encounter site were one (1) M653 and one (1) M14 rifles.

The captured members of the bandit group were brought to Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital for medical attention.
