Arrested drug suspects say supply came from Bilibid

Despite the tight security at the New Bilibid Prison, five alleged big-time drug suppliers arrested by the Batangas Police Provincial Office (PPO) said that the illegal substance came from a drug lord jailed in the facility.

According to a report by John Consulta on GMA News' 24 Oras on Thursday, police officials found out about the source of the drugs through text messages in the suspects' mobile phones.

"Yung mga tao nila, maliliit na distributor, natumbok na natin sa link analysis so they will be subjected to another follow-up operation, para makumpleto natin ang organized crime group nila," Edwin Quilates of Batangas PPO said.

Police officials seized almost P1 million worth of drugs in the operation conducted in Batangas City.

They also confiscated the phones of the suspects for further investigation.

"Tuluy-tuloy dapat ang ating kapulisan, pagkakuha sa suspek, i-tactical interrogation agad and get inputs kung saan nanggagaling ang droga," PNP PRO4A Brigadier General Edward Carranza said.

Meanwhile, four other drug pushers were caught in the act by the Cavite PPO in a separate operation conducted in Dasmarinas, Cavite.

"Naoobserbahan natin na yung ating mga drug pushers ay nag-iiba ng estilo sa pagtutulak ng droga, nagiging sobrang maingat na sila," Senior Superintendent William Segun, Cavite police director, said.

"Subalit yung ating kapulisan ay di tumitigil at meron din tayong strategies para tuluy-tuloy ang huli sa kanila," he added.
