Resident hurt, P1M worth of property destroyed in QC fire

A resident was hurt and some P1 million in property was destroyed in a Friday night fire in Baesa, Quezon City.

The fire was cause by an unattended candle, and spread to some 50 houses, radio dzBB reported early Saturday.

The injured resident suffered first-degree burns while helping put out the fire.

City fire marshal Superintendent Jesus Fernandez said the fire started shortly after 8 p.m., and was put out the fire past midnight Saturday.

Affected families were brought to the barangay hall.

A separate report on GMA 7 news program "Saksi" Friday night said residents heard explosions before the fire broke out.
