What Manny Pacquiao told Kia in his PBA coaching return

Playing coach Manny Pacquiao played in the debut game for the Kia Sorento in the PBA on October 19.

After winning that matchup against fellow expansion team Blackwater, Pacquiao had to miss out on his team's next seven games — all defeats — as he concentrated on training for his fight against Chris Algieri.

With the Algieri fight behind him, Pacquiao returned to the team on Wednesday in time for their game against the Purefoods Star Hotshots at Ynares Center.

The returning coach had clear instructions for his floundering players prior to tipoff.

"Sinabi ko, from the start, first quarter, maganda na yung pacing namin, yung focus, yung hustle sa depensa, takbo talaga," Pacquiao said in a televised interview before the game.

Pacquiao was then honored in a simple ceremony by PBA commissioner Chito Salud and Antipolo City mayor Junjun Ynares in a simple ceremony before hostilities started. — JST, GMA News
