Cops following 4 suspects in death of OFW found in SoKor septic tank


Authorities in Iloilo are closely monitoring four possible suspects in the killing of an overseas Filipino worker whose skeletal remains were found in a septic tank in South Korea, a radio report said Wednesday.

Super Radyo Iloilo's Ivan Aguana also reported on Dobol B sa News TV that the family of the victim Michael Angelo Claveria of Iloilo City are already processing documents for the repatriation of his remains. 

Citing initial information from the South Korean police, Iloilo authorities said that at least four suspects are being monitored, all were friends of the victim.

Delia Claveria, younger sister of the the victim, said that Korean police suspect that his brother's close friends may have a hand in the crime. She added that a deep-seated envy could be the suspects' motive.

The Claveria family has already reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs Region 6 for the processing of documents for the repatriation of the victim's remains.

Michael Angelo was a factory worker who arrived in South Korea in 2016. In the same year, he was reported missing. His skeletal remains were found in a septic tank last April. —LBG, GMA News
