Sexually abused OFW in Saudi Arabia cries for help

A Filipino domestic worker in Saudi Arabia has accused the son of her employer of sexually abusing her.

According to the victim, her employer's son raped her twice in a span of one month. She said the first time was on her third week as an OFW in Taif while the second one occurred just before the holy month of Ramadan.

"Naglilinis po ako, bigla niya akong pinasok. Sabi ko maawa ka sa akin, sabi niya may condom akong dala, hindi ka mabubuntis," the OFW said.

Aside from rape, the OFW said the suspect also forced her to do lewd acts.

"Binaboy nila ako rito, hindi ako perpektong babae pero hindi ko binenta ang kaluluwa ko kaya ako nagkatulong," she said.

She said she could not leave her employer for fear of her safety

On Sunday, the victim's aunt went to the office of Consul General Edgar Badajos to seek help. Badajos, for his part, has vowed to help the abused OFW.

"Susubukan nating tawagan 'yung employer at tatanungin ano ba talaga itong sumbong na ito. At kung hindi natin makontak dahil, alam mo naman, Ramadan ngayon, mahirap silang kontakin, bukas na bukas din magpapadala tayo ng tao," he said.

He also urged OFWs to immediately report any incident of maltreatment.

"Pag may nangyari sa kanila at may access naman sila sa Messenger o Facebook at telepono, agad-agad na iparating ang kanilang reklamo. Huwag maghintay ng one week o one month bago magsumbong dahil nakakaapekto ito sa bisa ng kanilang reklamo," Badajos said. —Ronaldo Concha/KBK, GMA News
