CCTV footage of fatal mauling of Pinoy in Slovakia

A CCTV camera was able to capture the fatal mauling of Filipino Henry John Acorda in Bratislava, Slovakia, last May 26, GMA News' Bam Alegre reported on Unang Balita on Thursday.

The Philippine Embassy in Vienna has reported that Acorda, 36, died on May 31 at the University Hospital Ruzjnov due to injuries he sustained from the attack.

The video — provided to GMA News by Aktuality.SK news website — showed a black-clad Acorda with a female companion being followed by the suspect who was wearing a blue shirt. The two seemed to be arguing.

All of a sudden, the suspect punched Acorda. When the Filipino fell, the suspect kicked him hard. The attack did not stop even when the Filipino fell unconscious.

The attack stopped only upon the mediation of two men, who also tried to revive Acorda.

Authorities said Acorda was trying to defend two women who were allegedly harassed by the suspect. —KBK, GMA News
