UAE offers amnesty to overstaying OFWs

The United Arab Emirates has offered amnesty to overstaying overseas Filipino workers, a television report said Friday.

A report on QRT on GMA News TV said beginning August 1 until October 31 this year, the overstaying Filipino workers can go to the Philippine Consulate and the Philippine Embassy to avail of the amnesty offer.

In addition, applicants can go online to avail of the same (pcgdubai.ae)

The report said the Philippine government will shoulder all fees, including the tickets back to Manila.

The amnesty, however, does not include OFWs who face other cases, only for those overstaying and absconding complaints.

The report said that for those who have no passports, the consulate will be the one to process the necessary travel documents. — RSJ, GMA News
