OFW dad dances with debutante daughter at NAIA

Noel Limon, a Filipino worker in Kuwait, may have missed his daughter Lindsay's debut due to a delayed flight, but he was still able to do the traditional dance with her.

A report by GMA News' Mav Gonzales on Balitanghali on Monday said this happened after Lindsay fetched Noel at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) wearing the gown she wore on her 18th birthday party.

Lindsay said she did this to complete her "dream debut."

"Sabi niya parang gusto kong sunduin si Papa sa airport na makita niya 'ko na nakasuot pa sa akin 'yung gown," said Lindsay's mother Christine.

Noel, who has been working abroad for two decades, was supposed to surprise his daughter on August 18, but his flight got delayed after a Xiamen Air flight skidded off a NAIA runway, resulting in delayed and canceled flights.

The video of the father-and-daughter dance has gone viral on the internet.

Lindsay said her father became emotional during the dance.

"Hinug (niyakap) niya po ako tapos he said sorry po kasi nga di siya nakaabot [sa party]. Umiiyak na siya. Naiiyak na rin ako pero pinigilan ko kasi nga naka-makeup ako, baka po kumalat. Tapos nag-dance kami," she said.

She said she did not expect the video to go viral. "Hindi ko po siya ini-expect na magba-viral kasi pinost po siya as an appreciation post for my dad." —KBK, GMA News
