No Pinoys hurt in Pakistan attacks —DFA


No Filipinos were reported hurt in two recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan where close to 40 people were confirmed dead, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Sunday.

Quoting foreign officials, Luisito Santos reported on Super Radyo dzBB that DFA has not received any information claiming that a Filipino died or was injured in the attacks.

On Friday, attackers fired shots and detonated a grenade near the Chinese Consulate in Karachi. Few hours later, another attack happened in an open air market in Orakzai.

Last Saturday, the Philippines condemned the terrorist attacks in Pakistan and said it remains ready to cooperate with the international community to address terrorism.

“The Philippines denounces the 23 November terrorist attacks on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi and on an open air market in Orakzai in Pakistan that left close to 40 persons dead,” reads part Palace's statement.

It vowed to cooperate with the international community to prevent any threats of attack.

The Philippines also expressed sympathy to the families of the victims and wished fast recovery of those injured. —Joviland Rita/LBG, GMA News
