Pope Francis comics distributed in Pangasinan

Even if Pope Francis will not visit Pangasinan, residents there will get to know him better before he visits the Philippines from Jan. 15 to 19.

This was after comic books on the "People's Pope" were distributed in the province, GMA Dagupan's Joanne Ponsoy reported on GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon."

Titled "Papa Francisco: May Puso sa Mahihirap, Maawain at May Malasakit," the comic books feature the pope's life and mission in illustrated form.

Readers of the comics will learn his simplicity and love for others, devotee Rufino Lomboy said.

The comics are being distributed by the diocese of Urdaneta City to various chapels.

"Specifically, sa diocese of Urdaneta, I would like to invite you to pray for the pope, when he will be here, his trip, his visit to the different communities. And our prayer would be that the pope will touch not only the Filipino people but also the soul of the poor," Urdaneta City Bishop Jacinto Jose said.
